If you are feeling a little down, tired, demotivated, lost or in despair, I can guarantee you are not alone! There are a lot of goals out there that have been lost in the chaos of our day to day.

Solution: Stop comparing your journey to others, stop putting so much pressure on yourself and stop being so critical.

Curb that anxiety with a little momentum this week, and take control of your week with these six tips on productivity.

Write your goals down

By writing down your goals, you create a vision in your mind of how you want your week to play out. You can visually see the goal, reverse engineer your steps to get there and be reminded of why. This will bring you clarity and direction.

Plan your schedule

Planning out your day in advance with your calendar can help you focus on those tasks that matter most, allocate times and deadlines to each task.

Focus on one task at a time

Try not to multi-task and avoid all distraction. Make your tea before you start, block the time off in your calendar, turn off your phone, turn off your emails and work towards your ONE task for a set period of time. Put in your earphones if you need to – you can do it!

Take regular breaks

Take short breaks (5 to 15 minutes – every hour or so) and longer breaks (30 minutes every 2 to 4 hours) depending on your task. Breaks are important as they help you to process and retain information, restore brainpower and reduce stress.

Just start

Sometimes the task seems a lot more daunting than what it is, and instead of beginning the task, we put it off and find ways to distract ourselves. The thing is, we do not need to complete the task all at once, nor does it need to be perfect the first time around. Just start, you don’t need to climb the whole staircase, you just need to take the first step. Progress over perfection, always!

Reflect daily

Take a moment each day, count your blessings and reflect on what you have achieved in the day (no matter how big nor small). This allows you to focus on your successes over the failures.
